Is this just ChatGPT with a prompt?
No. ChatGPT (and other generic LLMs) don't see your chart; they generate plausible-sounding text from your sun sign and hope it fits. NatalChart.AI calculates your full chart with Swiss Ephemeris first and only lets the AI reference factors that actually appear in your chart.
Can the AI hallucinate placements in my chart?
It is much less likely than with a general chatbot, but not impossible. The chart is calculated before the AI reading; the AI receives the structured chart data and is instructed to explain those factors and to say so when something is not in the chart. That is an instruction, not a technical guarantee: AI-generated answers can still contain mistakes, so check any cited placement or aspect against the calculated chart, which is shown next to the conversation.
Will it remember our previous conversations?
Yes. Your conversations are saved per chart. You can return to a thread and pick up where you left off. The chart payload is re-attached to every message, so context never drifts away from your real data.
