How chart-grounded AI reads planets
Each body in your chart is sent to the language model with its sign, house, exact longitude, retrograde status and aspects. The AI explains what that combination means in plain language, constrained to placements that actually exist. See Chart-Locked AI Reading.
Frequently asked questions
How many planets does NatalChart.AI compute?
Ten classical bodies — Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto — plus the True Node, Chiron, Lilith, the four major asteroids (Ceres, Pallas, Juno, Vesta), and the Part of Fortune and Vertex. Every body is calculated by Swiss Ephemeris.
Why is the Moon a 'planet' in astrology?
Astrology uses the word 'planet' loosely to mean any moving body in the chart, including the Sun and Moon (the 'luminaries'). It's an inherited usage from pre-Copernican cosmology. Modern astrology kept the convention because the symbolic distinction (luminaries vs the rest) still matters interpretively.
What's the difference between personal, social and transpersonal planets?
Personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) move quickly and describe individual temperament. Social planets (Jupiter, Saturn) move slower and describe how you relate to society and structure. Transpersonal planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) move very slowly and describe generational themes that show up personally through their house and aspects.
How accurate are the planet positions?
Arc-second accuracy across thousands of years. Swiss Ephemeris reproduces NASA JPL's DE431 ephemeris with this precision; for natal chart purposes it is effectively exact.
