Here the Ascendant sits 15.0° from a boundary, so a small error in the recorded time would not change the rising sign, though it would move the house cusps. A birth an hour later at the same place would already rise in the next sign.

In astrology, the Ascendant is often read as a way of approaching situations and presenting yourself. These are conventional reading cues, not measured personality traits.

What birth-time uncertainty changes
The Ascendant does not move through every sign at a uniform rate. The effect of a ten-minute error depends on the place, time and position being calculated. Do not treat “one degree every four minutes” as an exact rule for your chart.

Is rising sign the same as Ascendant?
Rising sign usually means the zodiac sign containing the Ascendant; the Ascendant itself also has a degree, which NatalChart.AI shows next to the sign.
How exact must my time be?
There is no universal safe margin. Near a sign boundary a small difference changes the sign or a house placement, and the rate at which the Ascendant moves depends on the place, the date and the sign rising. Use the best available record and keep any uncertainty visible.
Why does another tool give a different answer?
