Why this chart is different from generic horoscopes

What if I don’t know my birth time?
You can still get a meaningful chart. Planetary aspects and sphere scores are usually robust even with imprecise birth time. The Ascendant, Midheaven and house cusps are time-sensitive and will be flagged as such in the reading. See Unknown Birth Time Natal Chart for the full picture.

We publish the intermediate values of a fixed test chart, planetary longitudes to four decimal places and all twelve house cusps, next to the same values from JPL Horizons, which NASA publishes and we do not control. Your first reading in five minutes
- Planets. Ten of the seventeen bodies are the classical planets and the two lights. Each is a function: the Sun is direction, the Moon is need, Mercury is thinking, and so on.
- Signs. The sign is how that function behaves. Read the sign and the degree, not the sign alone: 2° and 28° of the same sign sit next to different neighbours.
- Houses. The house is where in life it happens. Houses depend on the birth time; without one they are undetermined, not approximate.
- Aspects. The angles between bodies, each with its orb. Start with the two or three tightest: they describe the chart better than a long list of wide ones.

Frequently asked questions
Is the natal chart really free?

Yes. The chart calculation, the wheel, the six life spheres, sky events, the weekly horoscope and AI chat are free, with a pool of 10 requests a week (a request is one generated answer). Paying adds compatibility, best locations, the year ahead and a pool of 100 requests a week on Premium, or no limit on MAX. No card is needed for the chart.
What do I need to generate my chart?

Date of birth, birth time (as exact as you have it), and birthplace. NatalChart.AI resolves the city to coordinates, looks up the historical timezone in the IANA Time Zone Database, and converts to UTC before computing the chart with Swiss Ephemeris.
What if I don't know my exact birth time?

You can still generate a chart. NatalChart.AI uses noon as a fallback, and a noon chart is a calculation for an assumed moment, not a verified result for the whole day. The Ascendant, Midheaven and houses are unknown without a time; the Moon moves up to about 15 degrees in a day and can change sign, and any planet close to a sign boundary or an aspect threshold may differ across the possible interval. The slower planets are usually settled from the date alone.
How accurate is the calculation?

Two things are easy to confuse. The calculation itself uses Swiss Ephemeris, the library behind professional astrology software, with the settings stated on every chart (tropical zodiac, Placidus houses); for a given input its positions agree with other tools set the same way to well under an arc-minute. The accuracy of your chart also depends on the birth time and place you enter: a rounded or remembered time moves the angles and houses far more than any calculation error.
Will I see invented placements?

The chart is calculated before the AI reading. The AI receives the structured chart data and is instructed to explain those factors. AI-generated answers can still contain mistakes, so check any cited placement or aspect against the calculated chart. Is my birth data stored?

A chart you build as a guest lives in your browser session until you sign in; once you have an account, it is saved there and you can delete it at any time from settings. We do not sell birth data. It is processed by the providers that run the service, for sign-in, hosting and storage, and by the AI provider that generates readings, each of them named in the Third-party processors section of the Privacy Policy.
Can I share my birth chart with friends?

Yes. You can share a reading through a /r/<id> link and a chart wheel through a /c/<slug> link. A friend who opens the link sees the reading text or the wheel you chose to share, not your account. Anyone who has the link can open it, no sign-in needed, so share it the way you would share any link. A shared link cannot be switched off on its own yet; it goes away when the account is deleted.
Do I need to sign up before seeing my chart?

No. There is no signup wall to start. You can generate the chart and read the starter interpretation right away. Signing in is only needed if you want to save charts, invite friends, run a synastry compatibility calculator against another person, or move to a plan with a larger request pool and the premium tools.
Can I find my Rising sign and Moon sign?

Yes. Your Rising sign (Ascendant) needs a reliable birth time: the angles turn through the whole zodiac every day, at a rate that depends on the place, the date and the sign rising, so there is no universal safe margin. Your Moon sign can change within a single birth day, since the Moon moves about half a degree an hour; an exact time settles which sign it falls in.
