Astrocartography & Relocation

See where your planetary lines fall on the map, and recompute your full chart for any city — calculated from your real natal data, not approximated.

What astrocartography shows

  • MC and IC lines — longitudes where each planet was on the meridian at your birth.
  • Ascendant and Descendant lines — curves where each planet was rising or setting at your birth.
  • Crossings and parans — where two lines meet, the themes layer.
  • Chart-grounded reading — the AI describes what each line tends to amplify, citing the planet and condition.

What a relocation chart shows

  • New Ascendant and Midheaven for the chosen city, computed from the same UTC birth moment.
  • New house cusps — planets shift houses even though their zodiac positions are unchanged.
  • New aspect-to-angle relationships — which planets sit on the new angles, which fall away from them.
  • Comparison with natal — the AI highlights what changes and what stays.

How to use it well

Astrocartography is most useful as a question, not a verdict. “What does it look like to live where my Jupiter line passes?” is more interesting than “I should move to my Jupiter line.” The chart describes a symbolic weather, and you still bring your own life to it.

Frequently asked questions

What is astrocartography?

Astrocartography is the practice of mapping where each planet was angular — rising, setting, on the meridian — at the moment of your birth, projected onto a world map. The lines mark places where each planet's themes are amplified.

What is a relocation chart?

A relocation chart is your natal chart recomputed as if you had been born in a different city, at the same UTC moment. The planets stay in the same zodiac positions, but the houses, Ascendant and Midheaven all shift to reflect the new location's geography.

How does NatalChart.AI compute the lines?

Swiss Ephemeris gives the exact UTC moment of birth and the planetary positions. From there, the angular conditions for each planet (Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, IC) are projected to find the geographic line where each condition holds.

Does this mean I should move?

No. Astrocartography is a reflective tool — it surfaces where certain planetary themes might feel more present. The AI describes what each line tends to amplify, framed as a question to consider, not a destination prescription.

Can I see a relocated chart for a specific city?

Yes. Pick any city and NatalChart.AI recomputes your chart for that location: new Ascendant, new Midheaven, new houses, new aspect-to-angle relationships. The reading explains how the chart shifts.
